Our Working Week
Monday – closed (except on bank holidays & camps).
Tuesday to Friday & Sunday – Lessons & hacks/treks by appointment only.
Saturday – Children’s Clubs plus pre-booked hacks/treks and beach rides (beach rides are tide dependant).
Children’s Pony Camps
Equus runs week-long children’s pony camps during the major school holidays. They are great fun and include bringing your pony in from the field and turning out at the end of the day; pony care sessions, grooming and tacking up; lessons and short hacks, even a forest picnic and long beach hack.
Some have themes – the Easter camp obviously includes an Easter egg hunt; the halloween camp, during half-term, is full of ‘spooky’ fun; and BBQs are great fun in the summer.
Bespoke Children’s Sessions
Choose from either a 40 minute taster session in the outdoor school or let them try an accompanied half hour mini-hack in our beautiful ‘doorstep’ forest. We hope they will enjoy the session and join us again, perhaps at one of our Saturday Clubs.
Saturday Clubs
We run 3 separate Saturday Clubs which your child can join. They are:
10am – 12pm for beginners age 9 upwards.
12:30 – 1:30pm for beginners age 8 and under.
2 – 4pm for advanced age 9 upwards (ability based at our discretion).

Riding Activities
Here are the riding activities that we can offer at Equus. Most can be arranged for large or small groups, plus we can tailor sessions to meet your needs if you have something specific in mind.
Lessons
Lessons in the School are aimed at all abilities from first sitting on a pony up to experienced riders. We can do private and semi-private lessons where you can focus on a specific element of your riding. Or you can join a group lesson which will be more general and based on riding ability.
Forest Hacks
Exploring the picturesque and folklore filled Roseisle Forest all abilities can be accommodated in order to take advantage of this wonderful forest adventure. From a nervous first timer, on or off a lead-rope, through to a more proficient, balanced rider, everyone can enjoy the amazing trails at a pace that suits them – a walk, trot, canter or exhilarating gallop. Groups are easily accommodated, plus children of any age are able to go along together with family, or Equus supervision, to enjoy this riding experience.
Beach Hacks
At Equus, we are fortunate enough to have access to Roseisle Beach, miles of beautiful white sands, for you to enjoy. All our horses and ponies are very well behaved and controlled, so the most novice rider can enjoy the beach at a leisurely walk, or a more skilled rider can enjoy a breathtaking experience as they gallop over the sands, unencumbered and safe. You can even have a paddle in the water together!

Schooling
Schooling is offered at Equus on a short term or long term basis depending on the level of training your horse needs. So, if you are having a hard time getting your horse to accept their first saddle and bridle, or if you are struggling to get those outlines or flexions we can offer help to do this.

Livery Options
Here at Equus we can offer a variety of livery options including full, part, working and DIY livery. All of which give you access to our excellent facilities. We can also offer schooling, competition, resting and sales livery.
Livery options can be tailored to suit you and the horse and we provide free friendly advice.
